Introducing Track Record: Remote Recording Without Compromise
Remote collaboration has become routine in professional audio, but when it comes to recording, the experience is often fragmented. Artists are expected to juggle unfamiliar software, import backing tracks, and manage their own monitoring. Engineers end up wrestling with file transfers and aligning takes after the fact.
Track Record, the latest addition to the SyncDNA platform, changes this. Built on the same media transmission and synchronisation technology that powers our existing review and approval tools, Track Record delivers a remote workflow that feels as close as possible to being in the same studio.
How It Works
For the Studio user, the setup is familiar. You run your DAW as you would in a traditional session. A SyncDNA Transmit plugin sends the headphone mix or backing track to the artist, and the new SyncDNA Receive plugin captures their performance directly back into your DAW.
The artist's side couldn't be simpler. They launch the SyncDNA standalone app, select their audio interface, and join the session. There's no need to worry about sample rates, importing stems, or balancing their own cue mix. From that point on, the Studio controls the transport, guiding the session just as they would in person.
An expanded use of the SyncDNA Delay plugin makes it possible to listen to the artist's live take in real time, while the session is still running. Each performance drops into the DAW timeline exactly where it belongs, ready for review or comping.
Key Features for Audio Professionals
Lossless quality, remotely – Capture up to stereo (multi-mono) 96k recordings with zero compromise in fidelity.
Encrypted transfers – Every take is securely encrypted during transmission.
DAW-native workflow – Takes are committed directly to your DAW session, no importing or aligning required.
Observers and collaboration – Invite multiple listeners to the session, with the ability to drop markers and make real-time comments.
ADR ready – Seamless integration with Non Lethal's Cue Pro means ADR sessions can run with transmitted overlays and beeps, fully in sync with Pro Tools.
Control for Studios, Simplicity for Talent
For engineers and producers, Track Record means keeping full control of the session and timeline. For artists, it removes every technical distraction, allowing them to simply perform. Together, it creates a remote recording environment that doesn't feel like a compromise.
Whether you're producing a record with a vocalist across the world, cutting ADR with talent in another city, or bringing multiple collaborators into the session, Track Record puts everyone in the same room—without being in the same room.
